As we become increasingly aware of our contribution to climate change, we seek more sustainable ways of redeveloping brownfields. In all Kilmer developments, we have a well established integrated site remediation approach to the specific site development and construction objectives. This approach has enabled us to have a more sustainable perspective on soil and ground water treatment and re-use. In our development in Port Credit, Mississauga, we chose to acquire carbon offsets to further support our commitments to a more sustainable approach to mitigate our carbon footprint. Naturally, we partnered with Walker. They provided us the ability to achieve carbon neutrality for the sector of the work that is typically most CO2 intensive in our industry: transportation of impacted soils.
