Walker Industries (Walker) celebrates 10 years of collaboration with the City of Greater Sudbury, transforming the city’s wastewater solids into a valuable and sustainable agricultural fertilizer – a milestone that underscores the power of innovation, environmental responsibility, and collaboration.
Since 2015, Walker’s partnership demonstrates how municipalities and private industry can work together to create long-term, sustainable, and environmentally responsible solutions that benefit communities and the planet.
Through the patented N-Viro® process, Walker transforms biosolids into a high-quality, sustainable fertilizer. The product (N-Rich®) is a mixture of the bio-solids collected from the wastewater, and lime by-products.

N-Rich® products are sold across the country to the agricultural community and are a sustainable and affordable alternative to traditional chemical fertilizer. In Greater Sudbury, N-Rich® is also used for mine reclamation projects, to restore former mining lands to new life.
